MAC NATURALLY: EARLY SPRING COLOR COLLECTION REVIEW

For early spring MAC has come out with a gorgeous collection that takes us on a “natural” journey through the world of color. Even though they are using colors that are considered muted and somewhat even toned for most women, there are some colors that will make your eyes pop and bring out the beauty in every woman. First off, always make sure your skin is in top condition. It is important that when trying out new colors or playing up your features to have your skin in top condition. If you don’t have it in its best form, start working on it now and that way in a few weeks you can have it in great form for when the snow starts melting and you are wearing spring clothes. Skin is the canvas for a work of art: your makeup.

For this look I used three of the mineralize shadows: In The Sun in the crease, Daylight on the lid and Cloudy Afternoon under the brow. I lined my upper and lower lid with Coffee liner and used False Lashes mascara in black. For blush I used mineralize blush in Early Morning. The mineralize blushes have very good pigmentation, so you have either be very careful with application or if too much is applied you can use a brush to blend it out afterwards. On my lips I used Sweet Sunrise Lustre lipstick over a plain brown lipliner. Yes, I am pretty pale. This would disappear on someone with darker skintones I believe.

For this next look I used Daylight Mineralize Shadow in the crease, Twilight Falls on the outer edge of the lid and under the lid. I then used Summer Haze Under the brow. I lined my eye with MAC Superslick liquid liner in Defiantly Feline and used False Lashes mascara in Black. For blush I used Subtle Breeze Mineralize blush. For the lips I used Fresh Air lipgloss.

I do like the colors that Naturally offers but that is because they suit my skintone. I am still a little miffed that some of the Mineralize eyeshadows have payoff issues. Some shadows are highly pigmented and some are just like putting on cheap dollar store items. I do have to say this about the Mineralize blushes. There is nothing subtle about them! They are super pigmented. It is very easy to go overboard with these. The colors are quite beautiful too. The lipstick colors are nice but I wish they had put out something shimmery. I am the QUEEN of shimmer!!! Overall there is something for everyone I think, especially if you are warm toned. Even if you are cool toned, you might like some of the shadows (Twilight Falls comes to mind) and Subtle Breeze blush. For someone like me though, this is a good overall collection to have around.
