INGLOT: NEUTRAL EYE WITH A POP OF COLOR

    101_0242101_0244101_0246101_0247
One day I was lurking on Makeup Alley and I heard about this company called Inglot Cosmetics. So I took a look at their website, www.inglotcosmetics.com. I about drooled all over my keyboard. Everything looked so good. And the prices were pretty good too, in line with MAC. Plus they had what they call the Freedom System. With the Freedom System, similar to MAC’s pan system, you buy pan shadows, lipsticks or blushes, put them in a large magnetic holder and you have palettes. Inlgot now has a 40 pan Freedom palette! Also, their Freedom System is incredibly inexpensive! If you look at the amount of colors they have, you will be amazed. The shadows cost $5.00 each for the Freedom System. The palettes vary but a 20 shadow palette is $20.00.

Inglot was started over 25 years ago by a chemist who was doing R&D research for a pharmaceutical company. He wanted to produce high quality products that had good prices. I must say that he met his goal. Inglot is now available all over the world. I order from their store in New York at the Chelsea Market Building. Sometimes they are hard to reach via email but when you order online the order comes in a timely manner.

For this look I wanted to do a neutral eye with a pop of color. I love neutrals and I love purple, so I thought that would look great together and really bring out the green in my eyes. The hard thing about the Freedom System is that once the shadows are in the palettes they are VERY hard to get out! I am wearing Pearl 399 (shimmery medium taupe) in the crease. Defining the crease I am wearing Pearl 452 (shimmery reddish brown), I then used this color on the outer edge of the lid and underneath the eye. On the lid I used Pearl 441 (bright shimmery purple) and under the brow AMC Shine 29 (shimmery, glittery pink). Lining the upper lid I used Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner in #8, shimmery purple. My mascara is MAC False Lashes in Black.

I used Inglot products on my cheeks and lips today too. Their blushes and lipsticks are also particularly good. My blush is AMC 57 (shimmery pink). AMC stands for Advanced Makeup Components, these run a little higher in price, $14.00. I looked on the site and it doesn’t explain what AMC really means but I am assuming that the product has extra shimmer or glitter to it. On my lips I am wearing Lipstick 413, a Matte Light Pink, $12.00. I find it a little drying on the lips. I prefer their other lipsticks, which are phenomenal in color and texture.

I am really happy with the payoff and pigmentation of all the products I have tried in the Inglot line. I have pigments, blushes, liquid liners, eyeshadows and lipsticks. The eyeshadows go on like butter! I highly recommend this line to anyone, whether they are just starting out with a makeup collection or have a collection already. You will not be disappointed.

Another Look With MAC Snowglobe Compact in Cool

I was so happy with the MAC Snowglobe Compact in Cool that I wanted to show another look I did.

    100_8485

Using the Snowglobe Cool Compact, I took Illegal Cargo (the light lavender) used it in the crease and under the eye close to the inner corner. Then I used Warm & Smoky (the shimmery blue) and used it on the outside of the lid and under the eye. I used the gorgeous Snowball (holographic white/green) on the lid and under the brow. For the liner I used Urban Decay’s liquid liner in Retrograde and MAC’s mascara in Opulash Black. My eyes look very open and the color of my eyes look very green today. Purple really does that to them.

    100_8486100_8488100_8490

On the cheeks I used Snowglobe Beauty Powder and on my lips I used a light brown liner with Double Spin Cremesheen lipstick. The colors in the compact are as follows: Snowball, Illegal Cargo, Idol Eyes, Wark and Smoky, Howzat and Set to Dance. For the swatches below I had to wet the first three to get them to show in the photo. The lipstick doesn’t show in the photo but looks great on my lips over liner.

The Snowglobe Compact (part of Ice Parade) is available at MAC counters and www.maccosmetics.com for $38.00. Double Spin (part of Glitter and Ice) lipstick is also available for $15.50. As mentioned before, this holiday collection is just great! I am so happy that I didn’t skip anything this year.

Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes

Without mascara my eyelashes are invisible. I wish I could show you but you wouldn’t be able to see them. They are like little wispy hairs. I am constantly on the lookout for the perfect mascara. I will buy any that says “volumizing” or “mega super tons of lashes”. Let it be known that I don’t like the regular Maybelline Great Lash. Yes, I know supposedly it is the secret of makeup artists everywhere. I used it once and found that it did nothing for me. So I never purchased the pink and green tube again. However…the other day I saw a cute display for Maybelline Great Lash Lots of Lashes. I said, hmmm. It’s volumizing. I like that in a mascara. A lot. So I bought it! I am now going to show you some weird pictures of my eyes with the mascara on that proves it does indeed give volume to my lashes. I bought Brownish Black. And I applied at least three coats to each eye on top and one coat on the bottom. I am not saying it is going to replace all of my other mascaras (afterall, I feel MAC makes the best mascaras), but it does do a better job than the regular Great Lash and I feel it is worth the money I paid. I paid around $7.00 at Walgreens. It is available at most drugstores.

If Julia Roberts did it, you should too

Wear Lancome Definicils Precious Cells that is. Definicils Precious Cells is the new mascara from the brilliant mascara minds at Lancome. As we all know, and if you don't seriously, you should, Definicils is one of Lancome's best selling mascaras. Precious Cells is an anti-aging moisturizer from Lancome's Absolue line of anti-aging products. Put them together and you have a mascara that regenerates the condition of your lashes. It promotes anti-lash loss while fortifying your lashes one by one. One of the ingredients that assists in this is Arginine, which is an amino acid that is known for its nourishing properties. And as a bonus, your lashes are strengthened. You will also notice less lash fallout upon removal with makeup remover.

Definicils Precious Cells gives you lash by lash separation. You won't get a voluminous look with this mascara but you will get gorgeous separation and definition. The multi-faceted brush allows for a fullness without the heavy mascara look but rather a nice, natural finish.

I think the best way to describe Definicils Precious Cells is that its like skin care for your lashes. Seriously.

Good Vibrations

Since the launch of Oscillation, Lancome has seen an even greater jump in popularity with its mascara's. As the #1 in mascara sales in the world, they just keep knocking everyone else out of the ball park.
Lancome's Oscillation Power Booster is the newest vibrating mascara primer from the geniuses at Lancome. The vibrating primer enhances the look of lash thickness, density and length so that naturally occurring lash growth is more visible/noticeable. Power booster has a flexible wand. It works the same way as Oscillation. You place the wand at the base of your lashes, push the button to start the vibration and draw out. You don't need multiple coats of the primer, it deposits all the product with just one sweep of the lashes. It can be paired with your favorite mascara from any line. Though, if you know what's good for your lashes, stick with Lancome's many mascara's. Your eyes will thank you.

You can pick up Oscillation Power Booster at any Bay, Sears, Holt Renfrew, Shopper's Drug Mart, London Drugs or Sephora for $39.

An Ode to Lancome

Im not a biased makeup artist or makeup junkie. I'll try just about anything because I believe all lines have products that are successful even if I wont use them. However, I do have my favorites. I LOVE Lancome. Its been a staple in my makeup kit since I started wearing makeup (at 12!!!). My mom, aunt, cousins, grandma, everyone around me has always used Lancome. So it made sense that when I finished school, Lancome became a company I wanted to work for. Now 2 years later, Im a makeup artist/demo for Lancome in the Lower Mainland. LOVE IT! So i've dedicated this post to Lancome's newest products and 3 of the best selling products. You have to believe me when I say Lancome has the BEST SELLING MASCARA in the world. Hands down, no one does it better. Hypnose and Definicils are the best of the best, and more recently we launched Oscillation, the 1st vibrating mascara wand that recreates the motion of a makeup artist. You'll have a false eye lashe effect with just a touch of a button!!! TRUST ME, IT WORKS!!! And just an added bonus is Bi-facil...the trusted eye makeup remover that you'll find in every makeup-ista and makeup artist's kits.
Aaron de May launched Pink Irreverance, a gorgeous collection of pink and color that will bring out the femininity that every woman wants. The glosses are gorgeous shades and 6-hour long wear!
The 2 more recent launches are Ageless Minerale Powder and Genefique. Ageless Minerale is Lancome's first skin-perfecting mineral powder with White Sapphire Complex. You'll brush away signs of aging and be left with a long-wearing, poreless, shine-free, luminous complexion.
And saving the best for last, Genefique. A youth-activating serum that the specialists and scientists at Lancome have been working on for 10 YEARS!! Genefique isn't a serum, its an activator that will activate your own skin's youth genes to bring back a brighter, more youthful luminous complexion. I just started using it and im not even joking, its already working. Believe me, i wouldn't bs you at all. Its AMAZING. It's available right now and if I were you, i'd seriously go and buy it.

So, nuff said. I heart Lancome and i gurantee, once you start using Lancome, you'll heart it to. And just as a side note, im Persian, my whole family is Persian, if you know anything about most Persians, they aren't as willing to believe "hype" when it comes to beauty products, BUT, if my mom, aunts, cousins and grandma are using Lancome and are willing to try new things and invest in a luxury brand BELIEVE ME, IT WORKS. But dont take my word for it, take the word of the enourmousy huge clientelle and following.

Its better than all the rest

L'Oreal's Voluminous Mascara is my FAVORITE drug store purchase. Its THE best mascara you could buy in my opinion. It does EVERYTHING you want a mascara to do. A nice dark, full lash line that looks as if you've got false eyelashes. The wand reaches every lash and give that fluffy doe-eyed or deliciouslx sexy sex-pot lash look. I recommend it to every single one of my clients to the point where everyone I know buys it now. The only downfall is that because its so fantastic and the formula is a bit thicker, you have to buy a new one more often that you would other mascaras. Which I think is just fine because its a super cheap mascara!! Try it, you'll love it..thats literally a gurantee.Source URL: http://makeupjunkee.blogspot.com/search/label/mascara

maybelline great lash...or not so great lash??

<-----This is Maybelline's Great Lash Mascara. Its one of the most popular mascara's in the world. At least every single makeup artist has tried it..some have liked it, others have not. Personally, im not a big fan of it. The wand is too small for my liking and I find that it doesn't cooperate as well as other mascara's ive used. HOWEVER, being a makeup artist, I use a lot of disposable mascara wands on my clients ( I get mine from MAC COSMETICS you get 25 disposable wands for $7.00) . Ive found that using the mascara with a different wand works a lot better. The formula is fantastic and doesn't clump and with using the disposable wands, you get a nice natural lash. Its a super cheap mascara (only $5.49) but my opinion, unless you want to keep buying disposable wands, find a mascara that'll work better, wand, formula and all.Source URL: http://makeupjunkee.blogspot.com/search/label/mascara
