NEED A HOLIDAY GIFT? TRY THE LORAC BEJEWELED GIFT SET. GUARANTEED TO MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY!

    100_9015100_9016100_9017100_9018100_9019100_9020100_9021100_9022

My two favorite things rolled into one, a great value and a large palette. Can you imagine how happy I am right now just having this in my possession? Just for the eyeshadows alone I am jumping up and down (as much as I can) with joy. This palette retails for $56 at www.sephora.com.

The top opens to reveal a bronzer and two lipglosses: peach and rose. Then there are two drawers, each containing an eyeshadow palette with an eyeliner. The Day shadow palette has sixteen shadows and one blush and a brown eyeliner. The Night shadow palette also has sixteen shadows, a blush and a black eyeliner. I have gone through all of these years and have never used Lorac products. Big mistake. These shadows are amazing in quality. Very soft and buttery, with good payoff. The blush is highly pigmented too. The eyeliner is also creamy in texture. I used the peach gloss and thought it was very pigmented with a lot of staying power. I can say that this is a worthy gift OR something you might want to keep for yourself…hint, hint. Smile

Day Look with the Day Palette of Shadows:

On this swatch photo I took swatches of the first two rows of shadows, the blush, the peach lipgloss and the brown liner. For the look I used a shimmery mauve shadow in the crease, a shimmery copper shadow on the outer edge of the lid and under the eye. On the lid I used a very shimmery champagne color and then a light shimmery beige under the brow. I lined with Urban Decay’s liquid liner in Demolition, which is almost undetectable. For mascara I used L’Oreal’s Voluminous False Lashes in Black. On my cheeks I used the peachy blush from the palette. The Peach gloss was used on my lips. I must say, if all LORAC’s glosses are like this I will be using them in the future! The same goes with the shadows, very nice payoff and pigmentation.

I highly recommend this as a gift to any woman in your life, she will love it! Thanks, The Makeup Junkie…

STILA HAPPILY EVER AFTER PALETTE

    100_8749100_8750100_8751100_8752100_8753

The other day when I posted about the Positive and Pretty palette, I was not kidding about the wonderful offerings Stila now has. The Happily Ever After Palette is a great gift idea for the Stila fan in your life. That is likely yourself (Smile) or a good friend. Retailing for $75.00 and available on www.stilacosmetics.com, the palette comes with six eyeshadows, two lipsticks, one blush and one bronzer and a smudge stick waterproof eye liner. The shadows are: Bliss (matte cream), Veil (shimmery dark taupe), Twinkle (matte dark reddish brown), Kitten (the ubiquitous shimmery champagne), Beauty (matte dark cream brown) and Forever (shimmery pinkish brown). The lipsticks are The Kiss (creamy yellow pink) and Love (creamy pink). The Blush is Flush (a beautiful pale pink flush) and the Bronzer is Bronze (light, pale bronzer powder). The Smudge Stick is Lion Fish, a gorgeous shimmery bronze. The whole kit comes in a velvet pouch.

For this look I chose to use Veil in the crease with Twinkle on the outer edge of the lid, defining the crease and under the eye. I used Kitten on the lid to brighten it up and then Bliss under the brow to blend out Veil. I lined the upper lid with Lionfish and used Covergirl Lash Perfection Mascara in brown. On my cheeks I used Bronze under the cheekbone to create more of a contour with the Flush color on top of it. That made the cheekbones kind of pop! On my lips I used The Kiss lip color, which is more of a cross between a lipgloss and lipstick than just a lipstick.

Overall, I like the colors that the Happily Ever After palette offers. They are nice for the nude looks, so nothing really over the top. This means the palette is great for travel. I would take it everywhere I go! I give it 4 1/2 out of 5 stars mainly because of the price. I think most people will find it a little too expensive. But the shadows, lipcolors and blushes are of great quality and are well worth the money.

TOO FACED SWEET DREAMS: A SEPHORA EXCLUSIVE THAT MAKES A GREAT GIFT!

    100_8619100_8620100_8621
I have admitted it before, I am a palette freak. I love having a number of eyeshadows bundled up together for me to play with. Too Faced always comes out with some great little palettes. This year they have come out with a great Sephora Exclusive that will make a great gift for you (start hinting now) or for someone on your list. For $52.00 you get 15 eyeshadows, 1 bronzer, 1 highlighter, 2 blushes and a full size tube of their famous Shadow Insurance eye shadow primer (love this stuff). It is available online at www.sephora.com or in stores.

The fifteen shadows are: In The Buff (matte cream), Peach Fuzz (shimmery light golden peach), Copper Penny (shimmery copper), Teddy Bear (matte brown), Lovey Dovey (shimmery dark brown), Satin Sheets (shimmery pink/gold)), Cut the Cake (shimmery mauve), Party Girl (shimmery bright purple), Nice Ash (shimmery gray), Smolder (matte charcoal), Honeymoon (shimmery gold), Label Whore (shimmery brown flashing blue), Nice Stems! (shimmery golden green), Cop a Teal (shimmery teal), and First Dance (matte purple brown). For this look I am wearing Nice Ash in the crease, Party Girl on the outer edge of the lid and under the eye and defining the crease. On the lid I am wearing Nice Stems! and under the brow Satin Sheets. Lining the upper lid I am using a liquid liner from Urban Decay’s old line, a purple in Ecstasy. The mascara is Cover Girl’s Lash Perfection in Brown. On my cheeks I chose to use the highlighter in Candlelight Glow on top to bring out my cheeks and then used Sweet Pink to define them some. My lips are shimmering with NYX’s gorgeous Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Cosmo.

This palette looks like something I will have fun with for a long time. The eyeshadows have a lot of payoff, which is usual with Too Faced. They always have good quality shadows. Also, I love their shadow primer as much as Urban Decay’s and find myself reaching for it more and more. Their line has grown a lot in the last couple of years, making a name for itself with these cute palettes, all with sexy names. I don’t care if they have sexy names or not as long as the quality is there! Give this as a gift or keep it for yourself. Mmmm…keep it for yourself I think. Smile
